Why this, why now, why here

Keizer's chapter on criticism and wonder prompted this blog for me.  I set it up in the early hours and invited you to be contributors before talking with you about it.  So, if you stumble here before class today, we'll be discussing this space more in class.  This is an invitation not a requirement.  It will not be graded, so in official respects, it will not count.  But, in the big scheme of things, it might count the most.  Here is the invitation--I’d be curious, respectful and full of wonder about what you find when you turn your critical faculties on your favorite work, topic, time period.  If you’d like to exchange ideas about it, with me and each other, let’s see where we can go.  It doesn't have to be now.

  1. I would like to contribute to this yet-to-be-started discussion but am having trouble figuring out what to write. I think what I'm looking for is a model, or perhaps I just need someone else to get the ball rolling. Any takers?
